Dirt Cake anyone???

Thanksgiving was GRAND...
OMG The food was fantastic. ( I can say that because I wasn't the cook) Chef Lin did a wonderful job, Pork ... MOIST TURKEY... GRAVY (home made of course) Fresh carrots, Peas, Fresh String beans, corn, Sweat Potatoes, Mashed potatoes, Pearl Onions, 2 Types of stuffing ... fruit and meat. TO DIE FOR. I am sure there was more, but My mind is so full just listing those....
THAN desert hit the table and it never ended. Turkey Cup cakes, Cookies, Cranberry pie, Apple pie, Pumpkin pie, Chocolate Creme Pie, Pound cake ,Dirt cake (above) And once again I'm sure I'm missing something. But for dinner last night I had the deserts that I missed in the afternoon. MMMMMM topped with Ice Cream of course! I THINK I PUT ON A POUND OR TWO........

Sometimes Life throws you a Curve.

Yes its been a while,
I've been busy as I'm sure you all have been.
News:
I found out Gigi has Hip Dysplasia (HD). I found this out 4 weeks ago when she came up Lame in her left rear leg. I had hoped it was just a strain, but when I took her to the vet he insisted on an X-ray right away. My vet has the ability to do a digital xray and we had the result with in minutes, It was clear... Grade 1 Hip Dysplasia. I didn't know what to do ...
I have since learned more about HD than I ever thought I would need to know. It appears as if Gigi has torn cartilage due to the looseness of her hip. The vet wants the cartilage to heal before making any determination on the HD.
As I understand it She could possibley grow through this and be fine. Or she could continue to show signs of problems and need surgery. We of course are hoping for the first!
So for the last 2 weeks we have been in Heal Mode... ie... Walk Gigi 50' pick her up and carry her and walk Jack the rest of the way. I walk them 2 times a day , morning and afternoon (always have) and now Gigi is walking much further and I can see signs of her limp slowly going away... The hardest thing is to keep the 2 of them from playing so rough and romping on each other, the twists and turns are what will hurt her. Also running on uneven ground, so She has to go out on a leash or by herself so they don't get to running.
I haven't had to much time to take any new photo's since I'm usually carrying Gigi or sitting on the ground trying to keep them from pouncing on each other. It may be a long haul but we will struggle through.
I'll try to get some new pics this weekend but for now I'll leave you with these...

This is about all the dressing up we do here.
The puppies loved this new thing ... the door bell rings, and People are standing on the other side of the door all dressed up!!! HOW COOL IS THAT... The best part .... We get more PETS!!!! Jack liked it so much he sat by the door and waited for more people. UNTIL I RAN OUT OF CANDY... OMG, that is the very first time that has happened. I had one candy left so out went the lights... PLEASE NO TRICKS.

Fall in Rhode Island

I took these pictures yesterday, I'm sure after the rain and wind last night most of the leaves will have fallen. (I'll be able to tell when the sun comes up)

It really is beautiful in New England this time of year. So for those of you who live here, take a moment and get outside and enjoy the sights and smells.

What on earth does this all add up to?
Jack weighs 12.0 pounds and GiGi weighs 7.6 pounds as of 7:30 last night when they went for there FINAL vaccine!!!
Next Spay and Neuter
(it really never ends)
But that is o.k. They are doing great, Almost potty trained and time for there second hair cut.
Supposed to rain all day today so They might not be getting there weekly / bi-weekly bath until tomorrow. (bi-weekly because sometimes I'm just not feeling it and they just don't need it)
